About One Patient Global Health Initiative

One Patient Global Health Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to
promoting health equity by addressing health disparity and social determinants of health, for all
patients but especially those in underserved communities. In doing so, we are committed to
promoting improvements in mental and physical healthcare by addressing disparity as it relates
to social determinants and recognizing the important roles played by poverty, racial disparities,
and social inequality, affecting the outcomes of our population’s health.

Position Overview

One Patient Global Health Initiative is seeking a dedicated, motivated, and compassionate
graduate-level clinical counseling practicum or intern student to join our dynamic team. This
position offers a unique opportunity for aspiring counseling professionals to gain valuable hands-
on experience while making a meaningful impact on the underserved populations we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Counseling

    Provide individual and group counseling services to clients in the Community Counseling and the Integrated Behavioral Health in Medicine programs, under the supervision of licensed professionals.

  • Assessment and Treatment Planning:

    Conduct client assessments, formulate treatment plans, and assist in the development of therapeutic interventions.

  • Case Management

    Assist in coordinating and monitoring clients' progress, making referrals to external resources when necessary, and maintaining accurate client records.

  • Crisis Intervention

    Be prepared to provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, under the guidance of licensed clinicians.

  • Collaboration

    Work closely with the clinical and medical teams, participating in case discussions, treatment reviews, and team meetings.

  • Professional Development

    Engage in regular supervision and receive guidance and feedback from licensed professionals to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.

  • Community Outreach

    Participate in outreach and education programs aimed at promoting mental health awareness to reducing stigma.

  • Administrative Tasks

    Assist with administrative duties as needed, such as maintaining records, scheduling appointments, blogs, newsletters, social media, or other organizational tasks.

  • Other Duties as Assigned

    Assist with additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in at master's or doctoral level counseling program.

  • Strong passion for and commitment to the field of mental health and counseling.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.

  • Willingness to work in a diverse and underserved community.

  • A dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
